Hi, I find sticking with glass or plastic works best, I did at one point and time use ply wood sealed and water proofed, My frog Never looked happy he hid and turned black, I moved him into a smaller glass cage after that thinking he was sick, within a day he was Bright green, so I kept him in the small cage for a week, then back into his wood one, he turned black as soon as he left my hand. He just didn’t like the thing, Now I have him in a rubber maid, and he hasn’t been anything but bright green in months, melamine may work though because it is plastic, I don’t see why it wouldn’t, but make sure you seal every crack with an aquarium safe silicon because frogs like there humidity and it would ruin the melamine very quickly. (The frog I'm using, as an example is a White's incase anybody is wondering). Good luck, hopefully somebody whose tried melamine will reply, but I’ve used wood just coated and sealed it didn’t work at all for me.
