Weird Uro activity..

Ok so yeah.. I came home from work a few minutes ago and went to feed this creature and he was like tranced out.. Staring at a rock wiggling his body around and after a few minutes of doing this he gives a short hiss and then returns to wiggling.. Never once taking his eyes off this rock.. What exactly is he doing?

I dont know but I wish Id seen that. Ive dealt with some Uros before but Ive never ever seen that. Maybe he thought it was a mirror.

It was a tad weird. I went to touch him and he hissed and flicked himself at me. I'm assuming he's ok because a few minutes later he took off like usual. Either way, im taking him to my vet tomorrow to see what is shakin'

My uros will behave like this when exposed to natural sunlight. They become a little aggressive hissing and whipping their tail when I approach normally they are quite docile. During the hot summer days I put them outside sometimes for a couple of hours.
Your uro may have been directing his aggressive behavior tword you and not the rock. Another possibility is if he's a male perhaps he saw his reflection somewhere, maybe he was having a territorial stand-off with himself!!LOL

Well, I sneak up on him, because if I don't I wont get to see him. Fast lil devils..But, yeah he is a sexy beast and my vet said he was ok so.. Normal behavior I guess.

Thanks
Xain

They do that when they get mad..like if hes sleeping and i need to get him out of his enclosure and i wake him up he'll wiggle and whip his tail but once he realizes whats going on he relaxes again. The reflection one is a big thing...some dont do it but maybe he is overly terrestrial or going into sexual maturity?
