I keep mine in a large rubbermaid. If you are buying pinheads they last up to 2 months (I have heard that they can live for three months but that is highly improbable) Just make sure that there iss plenty of food a little bit of moisture and eggs cartons or something for them to hide in.

yeah a cricket's lifespan is usually about 8 weeks. so however old you buy them at, just subtract that from 8, and you will have an approximate lifespan for them. also, make sure you store them in a cooler place, cooler being about 65-75 degrees F. i keep mine in my basement.

Thank you for your answers,
It sounds like younger are the crickets better is the store.
It seems that the crickets are less expensive on the web than at the stores. At least less expensive than the stores arround my house.

Do you have a good website to purchase crickets ?

Thx

ive ordered off of reptilefood.com. they were good, and almost all of the crickets were alive when they arrived. but your best bet is at a show. because they are a lot cheaper at shows. online and at shows are the same price, but then they get you for shipping.

if u keep crickets in the fridge, they go to a sort of hibernation sleep, and then awaken wehen u put them around heat. but dont try using the freezer, as its too cold too quik and they dont awaken, if u see what im saying.

crickets will grow faster in warm temperatures. their lifespan can be almost doubled in cooler temps. i breed my own, the breeding colony is kept in my basement, to prolong the lives of them and i heat the eggs and young crickets to encourage rapid growth. In cooler temps crickets can live about 13-15 weeks.
