My big sick malaysian not sick any more

Well she sounds like she's basically fully recovered.I fed her a couple of huge rats and she had just shed also.I'm relieved now and hopefully will be able to pull her out so she's stays used to being handled. Thanks for everyone pulling for her and all the suggestions.I still have two more shots to give her and I have the temps up for a few more weeks. Later, Ethan

Yep, my big red girl, got lucky I guess, first time dealing with RI, caught it early, I guess its a good thing I interact almost twice or three times daily I can see if anything is going wrong.I think once I get a thermostat, I wont be checking so much as I'm always monitoring temps and humidity. Thanks, Ethan

Just out of curiosoty Ethan, when you say contact with her 2-3 times a day, you mean checking up on her temps/humidity? How did you actualy find out she had RI did you hear something (wheezing)?

Yeah I like to check on them as I'll leave my overhead heat on on colder days and if I get some unusuall hot days which we have already I will turn the heat off from above and leave the uth on.I also like to pet down her whole body so she gets used to me. Prior to getting her my biggest snake was a female 4' black blood. She was intimidating at first but now its no problem. So when I make contact with her she always will let out some kind of hiss. One day she just sounded horrible and perceded to get worse, so off to the vet we went.It sounded like when we get sick when the cold gets deep in our lungs and hard to breath. Can't wait to get that helix control thermostat so I wont have to monitor my heat so much.
