I own both of those.

The rheostat is a pain in my butt so far, but thats because my house temps fluctuate a lot. I can't really comment on it.

The second one, has kept a steady temp for my ball pythons for over a year now and I really like it. I am sure there are better models but so far its worked for me.

I've used the Zoomed ones a few years ago and let me tell you they suck. Not worht anything. They almost don't seem to control anything. I've had heat tape shoot up past 140 degrees within no time on the lowest setting, and be completely cold on off.

I've had a ton of fuses blow with the 2nd model, both the 1000 and 500 WATT versions. I was under the load limit too. I have replaced the fuses several times and now only use them to run 1 or 2 feet of tape for quarantine purposes.

I usually build my own rheostats but I wan't something that will controll the tempature when I'm around, also I need something so that when adjusting night and day time temps I know I can trust it will be accurate.

I know Hellix rheostats are very good, but this is only going to be for 2 cages and I don't think I could afford a hellix system anyway.
