One of my "cages"
I don't know if this will work, but i will try! I reduced the file size down to 12 kb, so I don't know if the pic will be tiny or what, it's the first time i've ever done it! lol
If it works..........
I bolted the top down, I think you may be able to see them along the sides of the top. The water bottles are held in by a chain that is hung across the bottles on plastic picture hangers from wal-mart, and the pink bowl is just to keep the cat out of the rats food! lol

Ya, I hope to build a rack, and use that tub for an overflow bin, have another one of the same kind, so I can seperate the males and females.

I use 10G aquariums for the mice... hang a waterbottle on a coat hanger for the water bottle.

I use rats, but am thinking about breeding mice. I will just use the little litter boxs for them with a custom lid. or build a small rack for them. I don't want something I can break, because I will break it! lol

Very nice. Is the top hardware mesh? Is that about a 55 qt tub? What size is the colony you're keeping in there?

Yes, it's 1/2" hardware cloth, I think it's a 55 qt, not sure though. Well I was keeping a 1.4 in there. But it went to a 1.3 now. But I have the males out, so it's 3 females and all the babies, right now it's about 28 babies.
When we leave it's going to be a 1.2 (I know HUGE for only that many. But once we get our rack built it will be an overflow bin) and I will have another 1.2 in a smaller tub.
The food drop (which you can just barely see in this pic) is made out of 1/4" hardware cloth, with about 1-2 inches of the bottom 1/2" hardware cloth so they can pull the food out of the bottom and not the sides.

is that the 10 gal rubbermaid? If it is becareful! I had one of those, and my beige rat decided that it would be fun to chew on the lip on the inside!
I never posted any pics before. I've described it though. Glad it's working for you. I also went through the trouble to make a drop down food holder. It's great because the ONLY times I have to get into the cage is to get into the nests and to clean the cage.

I just have mice in that one. They haven't chewed on the container at all. I just leave them with margarine containers for nests and if they get in the mood they chew on the lip of that.
The male loves the low roof too. He swings back and forth on it all the time.
For the rats I'm going to pick up kitty litter pans. I just wish my darn tax refund would get here already

What do you have in the cage to the right of that one in your pic?

I use the same water bottles and they are just awesome! I have never had a leak with them because of that spring loaded ball. They are relatively cheap, too.

never? I have had like 5-6 of them, and they were all bad. They leaked all over the place.

well yes, thats kind of the point. So you will have a constant supply of the size of rodents you need.
If you ever get a snake and end up having to pay $4 (usd) for a medium rat, every week, it can get expensive.
