1) I know that some people on here have been able to purchase it at walmart but my local walmart doesn't carry it so I had to get it at my petstore (shock, horror on the price tag). I would recommend looking at a feed store though - you might be able to get it cheaper there.

2) No, you don't have to treat it.

3) I've only just started using it, but haven't noticed much impact on humidity. Someone who's been using it for longer will be able to answer this one better than I can.

Even at the pet store, if you buy large quantities, it's pretty cheap. I bought 2 cubic feet compressed (expands to something like 5), and for my two snakes this is a year's supply...less than 30 Cdn.

I to had to buy it at a pet store. I don't think you have to treat it, and I find it holds humidity more if I spray it directly for my BP's.

I purchase my aspen through a local feed store. It is much cheaper and better quality than what you would normally find at a pet store, and is pre-treated. Comes in huge bags (bales) thus it usually lasts a long time. At the store I go to, you can get shredded or regular, and there are other types of bedding as well that you don't see at the pet stores.
