Smile ah yes, my first aboreal gecko ever to hatch

Well here is my first aboreal to hatch, a little White Line Gecko. She incubated for an AMAZING 171 days! Here I was thinking it would be more like 60...

The father is a normal brownish White Lined Gecko but the mom is a hybrid of a golden and a WLG, she is a very nice bright banana yellow, hopefully she will be the same as mom.

Here he/she is

PS I have about 7 more eggs incubating with 2 more to be dropped.

Hope you like, Jeff

Well she glued them at an odd part of the cage, so the heat lamp could not deliver enough heat to incubate properly, i think they were coolin at around 75-80.

I have never hear of a small gecko egg cooking for so long.........that is really interesting Jeff, thanks for sharing

I've found even with Phelsuma eggs there can be a HUGE variance in hatch times, but as long as the temp changes are subtle, they always seem to hatch. I actually had a clutch of </i>P. laticauda</i> eggs that I drove with in my care for about a teo hours drive in the middle of winter the day my heater decided to stop working in my old car...........they hatched two months later

Congrats again, baby vittatus are very cute indeed.

Actually I am still waiting for the other egg to hatch lol. There was the clutch of 2 eggs, she hatched and now its been a month and the other still has not.

Melissa-

I just taped a margarine container full of vermiculite around the eggs. The container has 4 small hole caround it for air and moisture. Every now and then I will spray them a bunch to keep up the humidity. The temps were roughly 75-80 through the day with a night time drop of 68.
