Exclamation Pics!!

This is my female Red Tail. She recently was moved to a bigger tank as some of you may know, and seems to be MUCH MUCH happier

She weighs 192.4 grams and is just over 5 months

also, just as an update for those of you (if any) that were following, we still haven't fed her after her regurge, we are waiting another week as it has only been 1 week, but she is active and curious and actually spends time outside her hide now AND uses her temp gradient!! things are looking up for her! I am exstatic everything sems to be turning out for the best!

Mine refuses to use the temp gradiant, as a matter of fact spends most of it's time in the hide. Eats like a champ and is very active when I hold him, any ideas?

Boa Boi,

Providing a hide at the opposite end of the enclosure will give the snake a chance to thermoregulate without having to sacrifice the security of being in a hide. If you still find that the snake isn't using the gradient after you've done this then you know that the temps on the preferred side are closer to the animal's usual needs and may suggest an adjustment in the amount of heat being provided overall.

In other words you may find that you are providing too much or too little heat if, given the choice, the snake stays on one side nearly all the time.
