I have an 8 year old also. Have you considered, instead of just "replacing" it like its a broken toy, giving her time to grieve her loss and decide if she wants another one (not a replacement) or if she wants to keep her memories of this pet for awhile and go with a different pet instead? Just a thought...

auskan took the words right out of my mouth. i'm really sorry for her loss, but she'll recover. maybe give her a little time...and see after a little bit if maybe she wants to explore a different kind of frog, or a different kind of animal altoghether? it might be fun for her to get something different, but i guess that would be something to figure out with her

good luck with everything! sorry i can't help with a place to buy a new frog.

I would give you some Fire Belly Toads. If your ever in Newmarket, pm me. I feel terrible for her. It's always hard to lose something you love.
