Which rat pup to feed?

I have a smallish ball python (260g). I also have two rat pups and I'm trying to decide which to feed this week and which next week. One is 64g & the other is 76g. Perhaps I'm thinking this too much, LOL, but would it be better to feed the big one this week & by next week the smaller one will probably be around 76g, or would it be better to feed the smaller one this week & hope she can still get her mouth around the bigger one (which will be even bigger) by next week?

Try the 76g-er and if the snake thinks it's too big, he won't take it. If that's the case though, the 76g-er will be way too big by next week for the snake to eat.

If your worried about deeding it something too big use a string to measure your snake at its thickest part. Now measure the rat pup at its thickest part. Devide the rat pup measurement by the snake measurement if it =1.75 or less you should be good. 1.5 is ideal. Weight isnt really a factor.

Derrick, LOL. I didn't think there was a mathematic approach to feeding snakes, but I like your take. Honestly though, instead of breaking out an abacus, just toss it in there, if it's eaten good for you, if not, oh well.
