BC's best little native

Sorting through some pics, trying to cut down. Anyway thought id share some pics of what i consider BC's best native herp.

Very determined....Who needs to breath anyway?

Attempted to get a pic of her on my hand...Didnt work

Sorry some of the bad pics, it was late/early and VERY dark so the flashlights kinda messed things up.

Kyle

...more of a snake kinda guy myself, but those frogs are pretty damn sweet. nice shots too. i dont know much about amphibians but im pretty sure ive seen one or two of those in the swamp behind our back yard. whats species is that? if theyre all the same species they seem pretty variable. wicked shots and keep em comin!!

thanks, they are Hyle regilla Pacific Treefrog. They are highly variable, those pics dont even come close to showing a tenth of the colours they come in. They almost seem like every colour of the rainbow, even seen ones with a small blue tint and metalic pinkish hues.....That why i like em.

Nice shots Kyle! Love those lil buggers! And you're right about the amount of colours they come in!

Have they been bred in captivity? It would be neat to see what one could do with all the different color possibilities.

nope, i took the camera out one night and went out with a bud to some pond....I think most were from the one pond, and the mating pix were taking at the house with lights (then released OF COURSE!) Unfortunatly camera keeps having problems with water, so no pics of them this year
