Talking Paco is home!

I am very happy to say that Paco, the rescue iguana I adopted is now in his new home and exploring his new surroundings.

It wasn't long before he was climbing up his branches, taking a bath and checking everything out. He is now eating a nice plate of greens and veggies

I am happy that he is quite tame as well, no big fuss to pick him up and he seems to enjoy being perched on someone's shoulder I will be making sure to continue taming and socializing him so he stays a sweetie.

I will take pictures and post them up shortly.

Pixie

Wow Pixie!!! AWESOME! Iguanas are one of the hardest animals to care for IMHO. But it sounds like your guy has a head start! Whenever Roxy gets moved (moving cage somewhere else in the house or new cage) she insists on laying in the cage corner with her head in the corner for up too a week. Then one day will just start acting normal again! LOL. They hate change. But yours seems to be doing GREAT!

It's too bad Iguanas aren't something people can breed responsibly or else I'd say I have a VERY large girlfriend for Paco! LMAO

I can't wait for pics!

Awesome news Pixie, congrats!!!! There is a great 9 page article with pics on iguanas in the new 2004 Reptiles Annual magazine if you want further information. Ill give up the subheadings so you have an idea of whats in the article.

1)Know what you're getting into
2)Housing and free roaming
3)Heating and lighting
4)Humidity and water
5)Feeding (has a great menu)
6)Vitamin supplements

Hope that this info can be of use to you
