Exclamation Outliving the dinosaurs...one newly discovered frog

http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/science...rog/index.html

The link takes you to an article on a newly discovered frog. It's been around since the dinosaurs and scientists have just now found it. Pretty cool huh?

I posed it here because I thought this might be of interest to people who normally aren't into amphibians. I hope that's okay with the moderators.

New things are discovered all the time, it's just whether or not us "normal" people get told about it. Weird looking, it's legs look to small for it's body, and it's face looks like a mole, mouse, rat or something like that...

I love nature so much. How many frogs do you know survived longer than the mighty dinosaurs and have only just been discovered by humans now. Amazing.
They figure there is a species of giant sloth still living, although it would be a very limited population, in the Amazon of South America. There used to be something like 30 species of giant sloths and they went extinct only 10,000 years ago. Cool stuff.

Solid Snake,
There have been approximately 1.3-1.5 million species described on Earth yet to date, conservative estimates are that there are 10 million organisms on Earth and some Scientists contest that there may be as many as 30-50 million species on Earth.
Fun fact: 99.9% of all species that have ever lived on Earth are now extinct.
Cheers,
RMB

There's still tonnes of undiscovered plants and animals in the rainforests. some will never be discovered.
