heat mats

I have 2 heat matts bought from the reptile store and i was wondering if i could stick it in my custom cages.

is there a chance it could catch on fire????

I wouldn't put any reptile heat mat in a cage. They need to be kept away from moisture. The only ones I would consider putting a cage are pig blankets and similar types. You can put them under your enclosures. As with any heating accessory, it needs to be properly controlled with a dimmer/rheostat or thermostat.

I beleive Cobra Brand heat mats can be put direclty in the cage, otherwise I wouldn't. Just stick it under the cage but make sure you have at least a couple centimeters of airflow under the cage.
