Cool Uromastyx kick ***

Hey guys,

For those who read my thread about my Mali Uro having runny stool, just to let you know all is well (I am quite happy about it). He's been eating quite well, actually, VERY well. All it took was re-hydration, a lot of heat (had the basking area up to 120oF), some good greens, and a few insects. Thanks to those who suggested solutions! And for all those who are considering purchasing a lizard, take a look at the Uromastyx cuz they're awsome animals!!! I'll post some pics as soon as I can.

Also, I'm now in search for an adult female mali uromastyx. So, pm me or send me an email if you know of any available. Thanks.

Kevin

congrats Kevin! glad to hear all is well! How could you tell if he was dehydrated? I tend to soak mine in water every now and then but i never really thought about that before. I'm presently working on increasing my heat for the winter...it's a never ending cycle!

When, I bought my Mali, he was sharing a tank with 3 other ones. We just assumed he might not have had enough water. So, we're soaking him once a day for now for about 5 minutes. Later, I'll reduce his soaks to twice a week.

Heating is a tough one, I agree. The good thing about Uros is that they don't need to hibernate.

Good luck with your animals.
