I don't know the answer to that, but if you find out, let me know. A friend of mine in Ottawa has a pair of them and they are SO COOL!!! I saw them for sale at www.tailsnteeth.com for like $10 (in the invertebrates section).

Ahh ok I can see them serving as a purpose I am biased I guess cuz when I was a kid we stayed on the military base for a little while and my mom had to take my brother and I to the bathroom cuz we would not go alone. When we turned on the lights roaches ant size to adult hand size would scatter......that can really freak you out as a kid......and my parents wonderd why we would pe.......:w

In ottawa they are extremelly illegle and I can only assume the same for TO -= DON"T GET CAUGHT - U need special permits to own them since they can reproduce in very large numbers and quickly (even though hissers have a very long gestaation perios) wich makes it a huge pain in the *** to breed .. True they have no wings .. wich is one of the exception to the insect world!
Those roaches are defently pretty kool.. We have over 300 or so at work and it is an excellent source of protein for mainly monitors..
Dom
My savanah's love them to death!

Hey Dom, Where do you work? The only place in Ottawa I've seen that many hissing roaches is at Little Ray's!!
