Fire skinks are popping!

Sorry, no pics yet, but they all look exactly like the pics posted on the last fire skink thread.

The eggs were discovered on July 10 and I'm sure I found them minutes after they were laid. I had completely excavated the entire enclosure a few days previous and found nothing. This indicates an impossibly short incubation of 38 days!

My incubation temps were lower than recommended as they were sharing an incubator with G. vorax eggs. 78-81F and 90% + humidity were maintained for the duration. I was expecting a longer than normal time to hatch.

All five eggs hatched minutes ago and all five neos are healthy and alert. They did get a swimming lesson right off the bat as all of them climbed out of the chamber through the 3/8" vent holes at the top.

I'll try to post some pics when I can recruit a digicam owner.

That's sweet! Fire skinks rock! That's a seemingly short incubation period. Wonder why the little buggers hatched so soon Good luck with them, can't wait for some pics!
