Egg-Laying Medium

When your female is gravid what do you use in her Egg laying box as a substrate? I have been using sand but want to try something different. Any ideas?

bearded dragons i do a mix of sand and top soil slightly wet. that way she can make herself a nice burrow without it caving in on her.

Leopard geckos i use bed a beast.
