what does mouth rot look like?

I bought a golden gecko last saturday. He looked healthy when i got him. now its a little more than a week later, and he has this white patchy spot that start at his upper lip, and goes up to his nose, and in between his eyes. Is this mouth rot? if not, what is it?

It could be shed. My Golden Gecko's shed is often very white and peices get stuck on his face sometimes. Just watch it for a week and see what happens. It most likely will be gone. If not, then take it a step at a time from there.

now that I think about it, the shed suggestion may be possible. Because he just shed the other day, and i remember the piece on his snout seemed to be hanging on after all the rest had come off. Maybe I will mist him tonight to see if I can soften it up, or help assist him in getting it off.
