reptile illness transfer to humans?

Just curious, does anyone know of anything other than salmonella that is transerrable from reptiles to humans?

Yes.
Some types of mouthrot in snakes have been shown to be the same germs etc as a human staph infection.
Influenza, play with your iggys while ill with the flu can kill them.

I'm sure there are plenty more, but not too many people I am aware of have done any solid research on the issue.

Crypto aka cryptosporidiosis is something to watch for. You can find more info on the illness here

I know some one that suffered from it and he says it wasn't fun. If you have a compromised immune system it could kill you. Basicly make sure you wash your hands after dealing with your pets, specially after cleaning up their stools. Mostly common sense.

As usual Lisa is right, proper hygene should be taken when handling reptiles. The feces(crap) of a reptile has many parasites and bacteria that,"may" cross infect humans.Most are family/species specific and are not zoonotic(snake to human) but being safe not sorry is best. It is just as if you didn't take care of your cat's litterbox....the other thing is that you may transfer disease to your other reptiles.
