Radiant Heat Pad Manufacturers

Hey Folks,

After doing some research on heat panels and the like. I have noticed two differences. One is Pro Products, their prices are a bit more reasonable and they have all these garuntees. Yet I turn around to see many Online Petstore complain about them and show pictures of how they have shorted, burned, and just plain failed on repeated instances.

Now on the other hand we have a Helix Radiant Heat pad 11x24 (Which I dont believe is going to be big enough for a 4 x 2? But those run almost 50 dollars more expensive.

My quesiton is to those of you who use Radiant Heat Panels and the product you use, are you happy with it? Would you change to a different company if cost wasnt a concern?

Thanks for any comments

Call up both companies and ask them questions. I found Bob Pound at Pro Products to be really helpful, but he was a very aggressive salesperson.

In my opinion, both products are equally good, get whichever is cheaper for you. Another option you might want to look into is Enerjoy. They manufacture RHPs for Pro Products, and have their own line of pet RHPs.

Hope this helps.

I use the 18" x 18" Kane heat mat for all my 4' X 2' & 6' X 2' cages.
The heat mats I am using in my 3 cage system have been on 24/7 for over 5 years. They still are as good as new.
This is the only heat mat I will very use with my wood cages.

Hope this helps you out.

Yeah, I read the same page. Which is why Im asking the questions. Calling both companies does absolutely nothing for me. If i wanted a bias opinion then possibly.

But Im asking for user opinion. Each company will say why theirs is better than the next, its just not a great way to research products though.

What I am speaking of are NOT HEAT PADS. They hang from the ceiling or are placed along the wall of the enclosure. They never become hot to the touch and provide and excellent gradient. They use less electricity, and do not dry out the air like Heat Lamps.

Two Companies that make them are Helix and ProProducts.
