Question when looking to buy an albino boa???

which blood line would be best to get??? I've been looking for a little while now but after reading the post yesterday about problems with there eye's being genitic and seeing a few albino's myself with eye problems or one-eye'd Im wondering if it affect's all the albino lines or if it's just more common with a certain strain?

here in boa forum Jeff, I would suspect the choice is Sharp or Original strain albino's.

are there any other lines besides these 2??? I think I can pretty much get my hands on whatever I want as long as I have the money for it....

I've heard of a P.K. line and a coral line and a few others but I figured they were just different variations of the other 2.

Peter Kahl had the first albino I believe, commonly refered to as the "Original Strain", Brian Sharp got an albino and after recieving all normal neo's when bred to a Kahl albino it was discoved the two lines were incompatible and so seperate genetically. Corals I believe came as a line bred group from Kahl, there have also been paradox albinos produced, sunglows by an AlbinoXHype, T+ central americans, snow, ghost, and ivory possibly others.

I know the 2 strains available. That wasn't the question.

Bloodlines are not the same as strains. Not even close. Those 2 albino strains are completely different morphs altogether.

Sharp strain costs more and is less available. You will most likely buy a Kahl strain. But what bloodline?

Again, that all depends on what is available to you.

DVS:

Good luck in your search there about 4 choices in Canada, not strains but 4 separate breeders offering some form of albino. Even in my 2 pairs you can see a big difference being my first pair looking more Columbian Boa with a very light color and the tail being more orange. And the 2nd pair is from normal/coral line and they just glow and loads of red.

Good luck in your search.
