I built this new cage for my male dragon. It measures 4' x 2' x 2'. This spring (first as an adult) he has been trying to get out a lot (scratching on the glass and stuff). Do you think that he's just feeling romantic? What are everyone's thoughts on introducing a female?

Getting a female could end up costing you alot of money$$$ Those baby dragons eat alot. and when you have 20 or so, that alot a crickets a week.

So other than the cost and time of raising babie beardeds, there should be no aggression issues and the cage should be big enough? Or maybe he'd just be better off by himself?
Thanks

If you did get a female, she might get stressed from the male trying to mate with her all the time.

I have had my 2 since they were around 2 months old (male and female - seperate bloodlines) and they really don't show that much interest in mating with each other. I have put my male around other females and he shows interest. I want to breed mine so I am thinking that I will seperate them for a while and reintroduce them and see if that helps. My cage is the same size as yours. I would think you would be fine, but there is always the possibility of mating happening.
