Snakes should always be provided with a large enough water dish to submerge themselves in when they wish. They also use the water to cool off (ie:thermoregulate) & it is probably also refreshing for them as it is for us. Yes sometimes snakes that soak all the time do so because they are trying to drown mites. Sometimes they soak all the time because they are too hot/dry. If husbandry is correct & no evidence of mites, you should have no worries. Mark I.
