They come from Africa. Arid is fine for Regius although they breed in the Monsoon season when the rains bring the grasses which bring the rodents.
Only worry about humidity if there are shedding problems.
A big water bowl, a moist hide for shedding, and cages with restricted air circulation is the usual way to elevate RH.. ie Rubbermaid type rack systems rather than open(screened) top aquariums, where vapor is allowed to escape straight up.

Put aluminum foil on ceiling of cage and place water dish under it. I made my cage go from 4o% to 70% using this method.

you could try (altho expencive) buy a foger or mister and set it on a timer to go off like 3 times a day depending of the typ of cage

The fogger is pretty expensive (at reptiledirect.com they're $25 each and work great...for a while but then the membrane needs to be replaced and for whatever reason I can't find them anywhere!) so I've started just misting--and yes, if there's a screen top to your cage, cover it except for where the light/heater is. That made the biggest difference for us!

I built a small humidifier with a mason jar, small in tank heater, air stone, pump and a wire screen. Works great! It boosts the humidity from 40% to between 70 & 80%.
