Slug situation: SOLVED!!!
Well, don't take their word for it and here is why....
The two Cal Kings that I was breeding this year were unable to produce viable eggs because.....
THEY ARE BOTH FEMALES!!!!!!
That just goes to show you that Jeff was right. It wasn't the snake's fault! The "male" is quite distended and about to lay "his" slugs in the egg laying box I had left in the real female's enclosure "just in case". Hey, maybe by some fluke "he" retained some sperm from an old cagemate and will lay some good eggs!

Well, from now on, I won't take the breeder's/supplier's word for it!

OMG! I was actually going to suggest that! That's so funny(not really, sorry Tim).
But hey, get a screamer adult male my man, and you'll have 2 primo females to try next year!! Sweet deal eh?
Cheers man. This is s good thing, because now you know your husbandry wasn't the cause, and now you'll have double the production next year!!

Good to know it's not a fertility issue with either girl!

Much better to have 2 adult females, than stuck with 2 adult males. Next year! Mark I.

I totally agree with not taking anyone's word on sex. After way too many that are wrong, every snake that comes into our collection is probed now. As Mark says, at least you have two females - we end up with way more males than we were supposed to have purchased.

Mary, you can bet I'll be probing them from now on! But I will agree that I got the long end of the gender ratio stick in this deal.

I always take the following with me when going to see a snake for the first time: RayTek, stethoscope, probes and hand wash.
I agree that two females are better then two males.
Good luck with them,
Trevor
