a building full a chamelions

Hi,
I have a storage building that im remodling, and i would realy like to dedicate it breeding and raising chameilions. Can someone please give info on how to keep them and mainly how to breed them? Also i plan to keep them in rubber maid containers(55-60 gallons)with repti mulch and a heat pad, with plenty of plants and branches...How does this setup sound?

P.S.could you show me somepics of your chamelions and there cages please?

What kind of chameleons are you talking about? Veiled's? Panther's? Parsons? Once you tell me the species I will be happy to give you the proper information for caring for them.

First off though.... chameleons CAN NOT be kept in rubbermaids! They need tall, all screened enclosures. Substrate is not recommended for chameleons as they might ingest it. Heat pads will not work for heating, as chameleons are not terrestrial. You will need an expensive UV light for above heating for these guys.

Please do a bit more research and I will help you to the best of my abilities.

ball pythons are easier and more forgiving of husbandry mistakes. I'd only suggest chameleons to an experienced lizard keeper.

As much I'd like to say Chameleons to you... I love those beasts... it does sound like you've got an almost perfect set-up for a Ball Python. Go with that.

Cheers!

BP13 - you don't want to get into chameleons. i spend 15 minutes a day spraying, 10 minutes a day feeding and 5 cleaning my up after my chams every day, and I only have 3. If you want to get into chameleons, research them for a few months. there is a lot to know, you can't just wing it and hope for the best, or you'll have a bunch of dead chams on your hands in no time.
