Wood turtle protection.

I found a place that 'orange legged' wood turtle conregate to lay eggs every June. Last year we counted 6 females in 3 days and I am sure that there were at least 40 that laid. The problem with the site is that there are too many ATV and proditors for the eggs to survive. Last year all the eggs were lost. This year we plan to 'help' the eggs by posting for ATVs and offering some protection from preditors.

Any ideas?

You could fence off the area in which they lay, or build cages that go part way underground and cover the top of each nest made of screen or something so nothing can get in ...
