Should i buy this snake.... Please help!
The other day i was at the petstore. And they had a bunch of baby ball pythons there. I got to looking at them and saw that the one was a banded ball python, The rest were all normals. The petstore was selling them for $50.00. I did not have the money at the time to buy it, Is that how much bandeds go for? or do you think that the petstore might not of noticed the difference? I know that it is still at the petstore, And i will have the money in a day or two, Are bandeds always around $50.00 when they are babies or are bandeds supposed to cost more then that? Please help me out so i know if i should buy it or not. Thanks

You could buy it. I wouldn't recommend attempting to breed it until you have it properly sexed and also a full vet check up. My friend just bought a Ball from the pet store and it had parasites. But I mean, I just bought my Ribbon Snake there too because I felt sorry for the poor little fellow. I have no problem with buying from pet stores as long as you give it a good home, don't listen to alot of their advice, and check over the animal VERY carefully beforehand. And again if you have afford a vet checkup.
But honestly, go for it.

You also have to consider that the banding might not be genetic, because if the eggs are incubated at too hight temps there are often pattern anomolies. But still $50.00 is a good price for a baby BP.

I paid $50.00 for 1.2 baby balls but I got a special deal do to impending circumstances. But the site I got them from still has great deals upstateexotics.com or try reptibid.com their bothe great sites. Good luck with your new snake but I don't think you should get if you want.

I think you mean that you DO think she should get it if they want!!..
$50 for a banded is a good price. Its worth what YOU think its worth.. Maybe you should have a look at some local breeder sites and see what they are selling them for! Atleast when buying from a breeder you know EXACTLY what you're getting..

Not all pet stores are bad!!! One of my best friends owns a pet store....and I help him out onthe weekends and I know how he runs the store, I would never be afraid of buying anything from him! And this is not a small store its one of the bigest in KC area!
I also know a few of the owners of other PS's in the area and they all keep a clean store!
So just do your reasearch on the store before you by, ask to see behind the scenes and alot of time they will show ya around!
