Well, your snake will become accustomed to your scent over time, and will feel comfortable around you. It will seem like it loves you. Mine already knows who I am and crawls over to me when I set him on the floor to explore, but that's because he is aware of the heat I give off. I think that's all there is to it.

I do not think it is wise to take your snake with you unless you absolutely must. Snakes don't seem to like travelling much, especially Ball pythons. I strongly advise against it.

I can't say for BP's but retics get to know thier owners or at least thier habits. My buddy attacked by my Tic when he was taking care of it wile I was on vacation. He is great with me so I guess you can say he noticed the difference between us.

Answer to Q#1:
No your snake will not be like a friend. Snakes are solitary animals, they do not enjoy the company of anyone. They grow accustomed to us, and tolerate us poking and prodding at them (some less than others), and often we make the mistake of assuming they enjoy our company when in fact they are just enjoying the heat our bodies give off, or the security of hiding in our clothes, etc.

Answer to Q#2:
Well I would never recommend bringing your pets at home to any pet store. Pet stores are havens for disease and mites, even in cases where the stores appear to be very well, animals are still going in and out constantly unable to be quarantined properly for disease. As for travelling elsewhere, it is not a wise idea. Snakes get stressed out easily, as well as it can have negative effects on the public. A lot of people still have a great fear of snakes, forcing snakes into the public not only can frighten people, but accidents can happen, etc... this is what causes bylaws to be set in place... we are constantly fighting for our rights to keep these animals as it is, we don't need anymore opposing forces.

Answer to Q#3:
No snakes do not enjoy being handled, they merely tolerate us. Ball Pythons are especially timid snakes (which is why they often don't move much when handled - this is them being defensive), and get stressed very easily. They don't tolerate excessive handling very well and may go off feed or become agressive.

At first they totally dislike you, but I believe they can tolerate you and be neutral, they just can't begin to like/love us.

I think that snake sDO like us because I have noticed when I come up to the cage my snake gets realy active and climbs up my hand(but this might just be my body heat that he likes). And when I put him back up hes struggling to hold on to me,so I put him in and he trys to get out for about an hour.

I think snakes see us as big warm movin trea.lol. They like us beacuase suply them with food and comfuirt. Im not saying that snakes are mineless but all they do is sleep or eat, 90% of the time you see a snake moving is to find a nicer place too sleep or find some thing too eat.
