ATBs maybe..

Hey guys, Ive been talking to a friend of mine about my Carpet Ive been thinking about getting for my B-day, I also wanted to get into breeding. My family is kinda low on money at the moment but wer moving to a smaller house in july, My B-day is the 18th so we should have more money by then. Due to the money situation, I may have changed my mind into getting an ATB or 1.1 due to how cheap they are. Anyway, Ive heard that they are pretty nippy, but I can deal with that. I have some thick gloves if I need 'em . How hard are they to keep? Any suggestions? I have a 4x2x3 cage with 3 horizontal poles GTP style, will this be alright for 1.1? It has a 10" square vent on top. Pics are in my gal. Can anyone direct me to a good care sheet or gimme some pro's and cons? Thanks a lot all!

Horizontal perches (ETB/GTP style) are no good for ATBs. They need to have several points of their body touching something. Perches should be criss-crossed and then wrapped with some silk plant vines.

A cage that size will house a pair, but it isn't always easy seperating them for feeding, LOL. 2 ATB's might run you the same as 1 JCP depending on where you get them.

They are fairly easy to keep. We keep ours in translucent tubs with cypress mulch that has been rinsed well. The heat pad goes under the whole bottom, not half. They thermoregulate by going to ground for heat or climbing the branches to cool down.

A good care sheet is here

We adore ours.

3 tips..

1) Read many care sheets
2) Buy them babies
3) But them CBB

Ours are angels, but we handle them since we got them and they don't bite at all.
