Lookin' for info...

Anyone here ever heard of a Chilean Copper Tarantula? I can't seem to find any specific info on them (I'm thinking it might just be a color variation of a Chilean Rose Hair)... Just wondering what they're conditions/temperaments are like.

what about pinktoes?

I read somewhere that rose hairs have strange eating and molting habits that can be confusing for a beginner, and I've heard that pinktoes are a great starter tarantula...any opinions on these guys? Do rose hairs really have strange habits?

Ive used Pink toes .. Mex Red knees and rosys .. in my oppinion they are all extremelly docile and great begginer tarantullas although the red knee is worth a fortune and is endangered..

I personally would go for the rosy though .. personall preference .. cause I can't afford a red knee

jason: the site didn't specify as to what was strange about the rose hair habits...it just said "strange" and "possibly confusing for beginners"

It's gonna be a curly hair, pinktoe, chilean copper or rose hair (the last two of which are supposedly the same but at the place I'm looking are listed separately and priced differently) I just have to choose...hmmm, so difficult to pick between them...but I have to say I'm leaning towards the pinktoe, I saw a picture of one that was really gorgeous...

tarantulas from the new world have hairs on there body and when they are upset or nervous they use there back legs to rub the hairs on there abdomn thus the hairs com of in a big cloud and when come in contact with your skin can create alot of ichyness or a rash and if you breath in or get them in your eyes can be very painful,it is a defense mechanism they use against preditors. hoped i helped you understand without just confusing you LOL
