Keeping mice warm

Hey guys. Every time I thaw out my mice and put them back in to feed, within 30 seconds of dangling them they become cold again and the snake doesnt want them. I thaw them in hot water, as hot as my sink goes. Thanks all.

There really isn't much you can do to prevent heat from escaping, especially in smaller items or young items (lacking or little fur means poor insulation). If your snake will only take warm items the best you can do is to keep a bucket of hot water nearby to keep refreshing it. Be careful however, hot tap water can and will burn your snake, don't let your prey item get too hot.

How long do you thaw (soak) them in the hot water?
