Edmonton area feeder supplier

The supplier I used to get crickets from is now charging just shy of $30 per 1000 crickets. For the amount I need as often as I need it that is starting to get a bit rediculous. The two biggest suppliers I've found in the area will not accept less - and unless I'm mistaking, that is a bit high.
Can anyone point me in the direction of different suppliers in the area? For the record, the two I've tried are Ron (bait guy) and Crickets Unlimited.

You might want to consider sharing an order with someone else.. As far as I know there isn't anyone else out there that will beat Krickets UnLTD's prices. If you order 2000 they drop to 20 bucks a thousand right away... I have split orders 3 or 4 ways and saved a ton of $$ instead of buying at pet store prices..

Hey Rob, good to hear from you. <-- Jen

I have been ordering with someone, and he's still charging us $28 each thousand. The price has been going up for the past couple of months. Can I quote you on what you said there?

I don't think that 1000 would be that cheap. I pay $17.00 for 500 and if you were buying oin a bigger quantity you could probably get them for $25.00/1000, but I don't think it would be $20.00. That seems almost too cheap.

I was paying about that a couple of months ago, so it doesn't seem unreasonable. And it would seem that some people are still paying that price from the same person. ::sigh::

I don't really know anything about crickets but if you are going through so many...why don't you breed your own? Is it hard to breed them?

Someone with ERAS is breeding and selling silkworms I think. I don't know much about that either but maybe that's an alternative you could look into.

Greg,

I have boxful of reciepts that verify the prices I paid..

If you bought 2000 or more, the price was 20.00 a thousand. If not, it was 30.00 a box of a thousand. Jen, it wouldn't hurt calling
them up or visiting them at the next show in Calgary..

I wish that I had a need for 2000 crickets then, although, my fiance would kill me if I had that many animals. Not doubting you Rob, just sisn't think they were that cheap. My bad.

Well thats funny cause we order every two weeks and if we order 2000 crickets it is $23.00(2.3 per cricket) and if we order 1500 its $28.00(2.8 per cricket)
And we order EVERY 2 WEEkS. So it must be different prices for everyone.
