I don't want to complain, but...
It kind of gets on my nerves when people ask reptile questions on here instead of going to that certain herp forum.
For example... someone may ask what's a good age to breed ball pythons. They ask here instead of going to the ball python forum.
What do you guys think? Again, I don't want to seem like I'm complaining or trying to make a big fuss... I was just saying what I thought about this.

I would guess that the reason for this is that maybe not everyone goes to that forum and they figure that everyone goes to the general forum. So more people will see it.

They want to kow everyones opinion instead just one forum, also like Burmies said not everyone goes to every forum. I dont have a problem with it either.

Unlike, everyone else, I do have a problem with it. That's the reason that there are DIFFERENT forums, and not just one big free-for-all. When I have a specific question, I like to go to the specific forum where I know I can get educated responses to that question.

The thing is it says anything goes so most people are quite comfortable posting. I don't mind even an itty bitty bit.

It also depends on how people read the messages.
Some people just click "all new posts" so they see any question in all catagories. Other people only visit the specific area of the forums.
Its not that I don't agree, its that telling people they can't post a ball python question in the general python forum, and ONLY in the ball python forum, won't work. What would the general python forum be for? General pythons?

Well yeah, Marisa... I think they can post all questions about pythons in the general python forum if they don't have a forum
-or- if they do, and to post any python pics... that's what I do. But I don't go to a general forum to post something about a reptile if it has it's own specific forum with experienced people. You never know who you could get on a general forum! And I know all forums can pose a wrong response, but I believe that a general forum is not the place to post threads with a reptile question. Do you get what I mean?

Yup, the rules are the rules, and if everyone posted a question they had at the time it came to them on the forum they were currently visiting because they were already there then things would get pretty confusing, but I suppose if it only happens once in a while then no harm, no foul! But, yeah, I understand the annoyance to some. Just not to me.

I find it annoying when people post stuff better meant for other forums too. I don't think complaining about it is wasting anyone's time, it's educating the people that don't know any better.

I'll admit it, I've unintentially posted snake feeding questions in the Feeder Forum or accidently typed something about my burm in the boas. But I have gotten an email from one of the moderators kindly saying that they have reposted my question to the appropriate forum for me. So I will apologize for doing it, I do try to pay attention where I am, but it's just so darn easy to get wrapped up into a bunch of great forums and forget where exactly you are.
