Pink Blotches??

My male bearded dragon has pink blotches near his vent area. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

Could be his pores... orrr.... could be the early stages of skin blister disease...

Does he hang out in his water dish a lot?

Or a fungus, bacterial or viral skin infection, some of them look pinkish. Really best to let a qualified herp vet do an exam.

He usually spends time in the females egg laying Box

I don't recommend allowing males access to the laying box, or even to the female herself when she is gravid. Boys don't need the humidity, and the girls need to feel territorial and secure about their nest site so they don't refuse to lay and you run the risk of her becoming eggbound. Just the scent of pheromones from another dragon as s/he walks across the laying medium can convince some girls that nest site isn't a secure enough location for her eggs.

How do i know if she is egg bound and what should i do if i think she is??

If she hasn't laid her eggs in 4 weeks after mating, then you have to have a strong suspicion that she is eggbound. Should you notice her digging and straining to lay eggs before that 4 week window watch very carefully for any signs of stress or illness. If either of these take place, take her to a vet for xrays to see where the eggs are located in her reproductive tract. If they have already gone through the shell gland and have fully calcified shells the vet will give a hormone injection (usually oxytocin) to promote laying.

If the eggs are still attached to the ovaries or are in the oviduct without having been calcified that is a surgical emergency and the vet would need to spay her and remove her ovaries in order to save her life.

Not necessarily, if she is pretty egg-heavy then there's not much room in her belly for food. Most females go off food somewhat during the last half of their term, and completely for a day or 2 before laying.

If she's listless and unresponsive that's a worrysome thing, but lack of appetite is pretty normal.
