Intelligence Poll!!!
Out of these reptiles, which do you think is the most intelligent. By intelligence I mean problem solving, remembering, recognizing, etc.

Some lizards like the bearded dragon act as though they are listening in on your conversation and stare you down.

Monitors all the way! They know your scent and I have actually witnessed a few that come to their owners... expecially when inticed by food. They can be kept around the house like a dog or cat if tame and some love being petted. Some even grow only attached to their keepers, which is actually really weird... they don't let anyone else touch or handle them or they get upset. You have to also notice how they catch their prey in the wild. Komodo dragons will bite the animal and actually wait for it to slowly die and rot before going in to eat it... pretty good patience, wouldn't you say? You just have to think about it. To me they're like snakes with legs, eyelids and ears

Wait.. I want to change my answer! Now that I think about it, Iguanas can be potty trained to go on a humans toliet if you know what you're doing! That's gonna have some intelligence to be able to do that.

I think its torts too I saw a guy on t.v. with a tort that would come when he whistled and play tricks on his dog the tort would bump the dog and suck everything in its shell the dog would spin around and just see a shell

I would think tortoises, simply by the fact they outlive all the other species listed and therefore would have a lot longer to 'learn' things...

I'd go for crocodilians..
Monitors can prove to be somewhat intelligent and so do tortoises at times but, nothing come close to a crocodilian.

I'd go for iguanas, they can do basic problem-solving and planning and have excellent memories.

monitors all the way, they're EXTREMELY intelligent. They can be potty trained, they can idenitfy you, walk without leashes, and some come when called

I would say monitors, but i have never been around a crocodilian long enough to know how smart they are. And iguanas are fairly smart too. I guess its a pretty tough choice.interesting thread though.
