Toronto Zoo Pics *dial up warning*

Had a visit to the Toronto Zoo this morning! Had a great time as usual.

Although I must say around 11 when many people started getting there I was really dissapointed. Parents had apparently taught their children no manners, almost every shot I took a child would actually BUMP directly into me without a "sorry" or "excuse me" from the parent or child. Kids were banging on the glass, and basically running free while the parents stood there looking stupid. So before I continue folks I would like to mention two things, 1. Teach your kids basic manners! *L* and 2. It's really only cute when your own kid does something. To the rest of us its annoying and unruly. haha sorry just had to put that out there. On to the pics.

Nice White Lip Python (i believe)

Red Tailed Rat

Sidewinder
<img src="http://members.rogers.com/mattl/sidewinder.jpg">

Some sort of frogs but I really like the photo
<img src="http://members.rogers.com/mattl/nightfrog.jpg">

The BEST animal there:

Crap pic but nice little emmy

<img src="http://members.rogers.com/mattl/desertliz.jpg">
<img src="http://members.rogers.com/mattl/boa.jpg">

Thanks for looking. And like I said, sorry about the crappy pics but standing still when 55 unsupervised children are basically touching you is difficult. I took many other photos but who cares about the non-reptilian ones. lol

Oh one more....

<img src="http://members.rogers.com/mattl/turtle.jpg">

Seconds after this totally crappy shot, the camien (I think thats what it was) snapped back and grabbed this turtle right by the face. He had a 100% grip on him, and the soft part of the face but let go a couple seconds later and the turtle swam off into deeper water.

Awesome, I'll show my pics from the TO Zoo in a couple days, I still have to get them scanned and developed... it was so awesome, all my pictures are pretty much the same as yours... I LOVED the sidewinder

good point about how they just run around slamming into everything. At the last rep show I was carrying a 20 gallon tank filled with lights,feeder, and a couple geckos and some kid just nails the back of my leg and nearly took me out. luckily...I didnt drop it or it would have cost me serious bucks.

Thanks for all the great comments. All the reptile pics came out like crap because like I said the hot houses were FILLED with kids. But I did manage to get a couple nice shots in the outdoor areas where less children where, probably because of the cold.

LOL those lions sure look impressed with the snow. Mountain Lion (Lynx? I dunno some western NA cat) and Polar Bears seem to be enjoying it though. Awesome pics!

When we went to the zoo last september it seemed to be school trip day. Imagine 20 kids for every adult. http://geekgrrl.ca/zoo

BAZ- I really like your photos.

I just use a Canon Powershot A40. I liked taking photos at the zoo so much we are going back VERY soon, as I know my camera can get far better shots if I got some pratice.

What better place for that then the zoo?

Thanks everyone

Thanks Marissa

I used a Nikon F65 with a 70-300mm Sigma zoom lens. I'm planning on taking a photography course soon so I can take better pics. I'll probably be at Toronto Zoo on Sunday.
