Whats A Good Digital Camera $200 or under?
Anyone know of a good digital camera $200 or under? If you have one, and have pictures you took with it, can you also post them here? My moms getting me a digicam for my birthday, but I wanted to pick out a good one, or best I can get for that price.
Thanks!

Very generally speaking, any Nikon or Canon digital camera is good. Both brands offer good macro shots, and have good picture quality.
I am not up to date on current prices, but you could try the Nikon Coolpix 2000 or the Canon PowerShot A40.
www.dpreview.com is a good site to get more information.
Hope this helps.

From all that I have read & heard...you get what you pay for. It might be worth it to save up and get a $300 or $350 camera because it might be quite a lot better than a $200 camera.
Of course they are getting cheeper all the time so you may find a good one.
I agree with Edwin, look for a good brand name and you can't go wrong.

Ive got an Olympus D 500 Zoom thats awesome. I bought it for $500 last year, I think its going for about $350 now, so in US funds it should be about $200. Main things you are looking for in Digital cameras are (1) Megapixels (2) Optical zoom (digital zoom just increases the picture size, therefore pixelating your image) and (3) lense quality. Go with a brand that their first thing is cameras, like Nikon, or Olympus, and try to stay away from companies that make absolutely everything, like Sony, their stuff is usually way overpriced and far below their competition in quality

I'm not sure that you can buy a GOOD digital camera for that price but you sure can buy lots of cruddy ones! The best you can get for that price, which still isnt good, is the Olympus. Minoltas are the best camera you can buy but cost $500.
