Best enclosure for boa.
Hi I’m a new owner of a 1 year old boa. I need to buy a new enclosure. I was told but the guy we bought him from that animal plastics are the best. I looked them up and there is an 18 week wait. I can’t wait that long. Any suggestions on another good company to use? I want something super good, sturdy and escape proof! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Boaphile us another good option. I believe they have most sizes in stock, so a shorter delivery time.

Re: Best enclosure for boa.
I mean a 1yr old boa (bci I’m assuming here) should be pretty small and should have 2 years before it has any real size on it. Plenty of time for an ap cage to arrive. You can just pick up a bin at Walmart as a temp cage but I heard decent things about reptilebasics cages and they are fairly fast.

Re: Best enclosure for boa.
The AP T8 is a quick ship item. That should be large enough for an adult boa.

Re: Best enclosure for boa.
I looked that up and thank you I will order that. What’s a good way to heat a plastic enclosure like this?

A Radiant Heat Panel (RHP) will be your best bet. You can even have it sent to AP and they'll install it.
I haven't ordered from them myself, but have read enough to know that many people use Pro Products to order the RHP and Bob will send it to AP for installation.
Of course, you'll also need a reliable thermostat.

Re: Best enclosure for boa.
Planning for the future, I’ve been looking at animal plastics myself. I have two hatchling boas. One is a Nicaraguan and the other I’m assuming is a BCI. It doesn’t have the bright red tail. I’m very new to keeping snakes. How large of an enclosure should I get for each of them?

A 4x2 or 6x2 should be a great enclosure for most adult boas.

Re: Best enclosure for boa.
The quick ship is a 4x2. That’s the one I’m going to order tonight. Also getting the pro heat. Emailed and spoke with him about what one I’ll need.

Re: Best enclosure for boa.
If you're wanting something from AP that isn't a quick ship item plan on waiting at least 6 months after paying for the order. I ordered 4 T10's in the middle of last February, and still haven't received notification of shipment yet. Had the same wait time the first time I ordered several years ago as well. IMO they're the best product available with lower prices than other brands, so they're worth the wait.

Not surprised. Just placed an order for a 4'x2'x4'. Their estimate was 3-5 mos. The email emphasized it was just an estimate and might change.

Re: Best enclosure for boa.
Sometimes the quick ship isn’t so quick either haha. AP is a good cage though so worth the wait.
