Flexwatt tape safe to install directly on bottom of cage ?

Hello I'm looking to get my first animal plastics or vision cage here in a couple weeks and I have a question about installing thg or flexwatt tape. I have always used glass enclosures with a
zoomed uth on one side for my warm spot. With the AP and vision cages being plastic would heat tape applied directly to the outside bottom of the cage be too much heat and warp/burn the plastic if trying to reach a temp of 93°F?

That’s fine but you have to run a thermostat with flex watt or it will get much warmer then 93!

I use ultratherm heat mats under my pvc cages, regulated with herpstat thermostats. The Animal Plastics have a slot cut out for a thermostat probe. Aluminum foil tape to hold the mat in place. They're a bit more expensive than heat tape, but you never have to worry about them getting hot enough to do any damage to the enclosure or cook your critters.
