Lizard Help

So I really want to get a pet lizard/gecko, maybe even some kind of amphibian...however I'm on a fixed income, and the total cost (including enclosure and food) can't exceed $316. I may have some wiggle room and may be able to get this around $350-$400 but it isn't likely. A good cost for the animal itself probably can't be more than $100.
Anyway, anyone have any recommendations for me? I would prefer for the animal to be handleable, and not exceeding about 15" in length, however I also don't want a super super small animal.. and I DON'T want a crested gecko, so please don't say to get one of those! Thank you for reading this.

Re: Lizard Help

Welcome to the forum! We're glad you're here.

A good choice for a docile lizard of manageable size would be the leopard gecko. Adults usually measure 7-10 inches in length, depending on the gender.

Re: Lizard Help

Depending on where you are locate, there are reptile rescue groups that often have animals available for adoption sometime with the enclosure for a reasonable price. I would encourage you to do lots of research before you select or acquire your new pet to ensure that you are able to give proper care for the animal. Best of luck and please let us know what you end up getting.
