Bioactive - Plants for Kings?

Now that everything seems to be calming down a little(I found a reliable source of live mice), I've begun considering my King's viv setup. She's not getting anything fancy in the near future. As long as she's still in her little 10g tank with the (hated)sliding top, she can deal with aspen, 2 habba huts, and a big bushy vine.

Once I move her into a bigger, more permanent enclosure though, I was thinking of making it bioactive. The biodude seems to have some pretty cool kits, and that sure is appealing.

The plants he sells in his "kingsnake" kit look nice, but I was wondering about them. Which plants are the best for Kingsnakes? They're burrowers and I can easily imagine Penelope destroying live plants, especially when she's bigger.

I remember seeing a person on youtube who mitigated this by putting his plants in pots and covering them with fabric mesh, so that the king couldn't dig them up, and burying the top of the pot under a layer of substrate so that it looked like it was growing right out of the soil. Any thoughts on doing this?
