Baking substrate?

Is it a good idea to bake substrate like Pete Moss if you get it from a garden supply ?

Re: Baking substrate?

generally you do not need to bake substrates at this time but bare in mind there are fungal diseases that affect snakes. It is assumed most cases are by more direct contact but who knows what is possible. I use cypress but I am not baking it. I think it is a fairly low risk that you will introduce a pathogen as far as I know.

Then you're excused. Except there were no stories or pics shared.
