Dumerils shed concern

Hello from Indianapolis, this is my first post. Obv by my name I Love Dumerils Boas, and have a beautiful 18 month old female named Freya. She has always been great during shed and peels in one piece, that is until 2 sheds ago. I havnt changed anything humidity/temps. The last peel was awful, her belly peeled easily but in pieces, then a few days later her back, then her head last. She is literally my baby, and I am concerned. I know the normal advice of soaking her, I have her humidity at 50% no higher than 55%. Is there a product out there for a problem shed?? Am I worried for nothing?? Thank you in advance for any advice!!👍🏻🐍❤️ Btw she is in deep shed again only 4 weeks later

You can take the humidity up while in shed...just reduce it again after it’s complete. That will help with the shed.

Besides, a wet wash cloth, and some light stroking to remove the stuck shed, after an hour long bath, will give you some quality time with your pet while you remove the shed!

For my BCI I try to maintain 55-65% but will try and raise humidity for a shed. He has shed great regardless. I will always try to maintain higher humidity for all my snakes during shed to help and let it go back to the regular range after.

Tyvm, I did raise humidity to 65%, she is my lap snake, we do everything together. I appreciate u both thx again!

Yeah, boost the humidity during shed to around 70%. You can also add damp sphangnum moss to the hides, this helps my snakes greatly in the dry winter months especially.
There are commercial products out there, but they're a waste of money and the best thing you can do for your snake to shed well is proper husbandry.

I also noticed you said she's your lap snake and you do everything together. That makes me think she's handled regularly, for extended periods of time? I also noticed the last 2 sheds have been bad. I'm wondering if the dry winter months when she's outside her enclosure she's not getting proper humidity and this may be partially responsible for the bad sheds??
