Baby Rattlesnake?

Hi all!

Recently moved to a new house and within a week found two baby snakes in our yard in the process of digging up for new landscaping. We think they are baby rattlers. Thought I would confer with the experts. We captured them and relocated to the desert.

Here's a quick video.

Re: Baby Rattlesnake?

It's definitely not a rattler. It's a rather nice looking gopher snake. They're one of my favorite species to keep. They will hiss and rattle their tails, which can be a bit intimidating, but they're non venomous and totally harmless to humans. Unfortunately they're sometimes mistaken for rattlers due to their appearance and defensive displays. I'm glad this one wasn't harmed.
