Building new enclosure, need advice

There's just a few questions that I have. I'm going to be making stackable enclosures so I can be a little more space efficient with my snakes.
Should I be using wood panels 1/4" thick, or go with 1/2" thick to make it more sturdy?
What's the best way to go about making a door for the enclosure? I was thinking sliding glass panels, but I'm unsure of how difficult they'd be to construct.
Any other tips or suggestions would be helpful. I'm going to be using water based verathane to paint it.

Definitely 1/2". You might also consider using Sintra, or similar brand. It is expanded PVC. It is waterproof and easy to work with- no need to paint.
Sliding glass doors are easy, as long as your opening is precise and square. Use tempered glass, and these for tracks:

Attach pulls to the glass doors using silicone.

Where is everyone getting these pvc panels. I've been trying to price out custom enclosures to build but no where close to me sells them. Does anyone have direct links to the type of product I'd be trying to purchase?

I installed some glass a few weeks ago, here's a step by step video. It wasn't too hard
