Thermostat question

I bought a Helix DBS 1000 from a guy here in town. He told me he ran of to 7 devices off this. Maybe im dumb here but I dont get it. I has extra outlets and looks like I can run a total of 3 sources off it. Does that mean im plugging in 2 more different t stats into it or 2 more heat sources. If its heat sources, how does it regulate heat if it only has one temp probe?

What some people do is setup a probe in 1 enclosure and have it control heatmats in several identical enclosures.
