Insurance coverage for my sneks?

Hi guys, long time no see! Well I have still been lurking just been so busy with other stuff that I haven't taken the time to post anything. Anyway, so I'm renting now as of a year ago, and during a conversation with my landlord she was reminded that I own snakes. Note: she was fully aware I had them when my family and I moved in. So due to this she is now angry that I have them and considers them a liability. I am freaked out and now am in a constant state of worry that she will one day wake up and decide she wants them gone altogether. In order to provide them with as much safety as possible I'm trying to find some way to get insurance/policy, contract, something that would show her I am 100% liable and will take care of them/any damage she thinks they will cause. I've called my insurance company State Farm and they said they don't provide any type of coverage for that, or to insure my fish tanks since those are on my mind as well. So now that you've read that unnecessarily long intro, anybody have ideas or experience in this area?

A liability? For real? What is it with people and snakes. Assuming you don't keep a bunch of mamba's here, it's a bit silly to believe a corn, king, ball python, or whatever small non-venomous snake is a liability.

A water cooker in your kitchen is likely more of a liability than that.

Re: Insurance coverage for my sneks?

I know right? I even have locks on my cages and never let anyone get near or hold them if there is any doubt as to their common sense. But my landlords husband is also the type of "Oh snake! Must be dangerous so I'm going to wack it into smithereens and post it on Facebook!" So I'm sure she's influenced by that. I'm trying to be respectful on my part and do what I can to make her a little more comfortable and help protect my pets. Oh and thanks for the info Scubadiver, I'll check into that!

What EXACTLY makes her think that they are now a liability? They're controlled and contained...perhaps if you find out what her reasoning is it could help?
